M.L. Lexi's Inspiration For The Determined Woman

It’s said that you should write about what you know. Taking that to heart inspired M.L. Lexi to write The Determined Woman, the story of a young woman, Isabella Farfalla, struggling to keep afloat after her father’s death.

Isabella’s story is comprised of first-hand knowledge and many real-life stories experienced by the families in the mainly Italian enclave where M.L. Lexi’s father settled the family on arrival to Canada. Isabella’s financial, life, and love struggles are those of the poor immigrants M.L. grew up with. M.L.’s life lessons are those that have shaped her life. And M.L. is happy to say that Isabella’s successes reflect, not necessarily in scope but in spirit, what M.L. grew up to achieve. There is light at the end of that dark tunnel, and in the words of Louise May Alcott: Nothing is impossible to a determined woman.
